Treating Yeast Infection: Understanding The Basics

One important thing that you need to keep in mind is that concentrated apple cider vinegar can cause harm to your skin. When you are treating yeast infection with apple cider vinegar, make sure to dilute the apple cider vinegar solution.

Water is often used to dilute apple cider vinegar. The recommended dilution for apple cider vinegar is one tablespoon in one quart of water. The water that is to be used for the dilution needs to be at room temperature. After diluting the apple cider vinegar, take a cotton swab and dip it into the diluted apple cider vinegar solution. Then, gently apply the apple cider vinegar solution over the infected part of the skin. The dilute apple cider vinegar solution needs to be stored in glass bottles to maintain its physical properties.

Sometimes, apple cider vinegar and garlic are combined to give total relief from the infection and the itching that is associated with the yeast infection. In addition, to external application, you can also try eating the raw garlic cloves. Second, you can go to your family physician or doctor and acquire a prescription for the yeast infection medications.

If you are treating yeast infection for the first time, then it is highly recommended that you visit your doctor immediately. If you have had yeast infections in the past and you are very sure that the infection is a yeast infection, then you may take over-the-counter medications.

Some yeast infection medications are very fast acting whereas some are slow acting. Most yeast infection medications are very good, but they may have some side effects, which you may have to bear for some time. Common side effects of yeast infection medications are burning, itching, inflammation, and pain. The oil that may be present in the creams and suppositories may weaken latex condoms. So, if you are using latex condoms as a contraceptive, during the treatment of yeast infection, then you may have to look out for other contraceptive alternatives.
